Perhaps you might consider sponsoring a name or names
on this "living memorial" and the Center Fountain
Memorial. If you sponsor a name, the sponsorship applies
to both the Center Fountain Memorial and the "living
memorial". Sponsors will be acknowledged on the
web site. Individual sponsors are limited to no more
than ten (10) names, and corporate, foundation, or organizational
sponsors are limited to no more than fifty (50) names.
Families of our fallen heroes are always accorded the
right to sponsor the name of their loved one. The GCVM
executive committee reserves the right and the discretion
to decide all issues related to sponsorship.
Why consider sponsoring a name?
The GCVM is a charitable, 501(c)(3) tax exempt, corporation
comprised exclusively of volunteers. We realize there
are future, ongoing costs to maintain both the "living
memorial" and the basin of the Center Fountain
Memorial with the added names. Thus, we have established
the "GCVM Memorial Fund" and all donations
to sponsor a name will go to the memorial fund. Donations
are tax deductible.
What will it cost to sponsor
a name? The cost is $10.60 for each name. There
are 106 years spanning the generations of Greater Cleveland's
first war casualty of this period (1899) to its most
recent casualty of war (2005). The cost represents a
modest dime a year over those 106 years and is, most
importantly, affordable to all.
